Question Should I use a V1 in tandem with a redline??

I ask this because I bought a 9500ix recently and was told to just "use it as a leo locator and defeat the bands except X band and run V1 with all bands on -X band off.

I believe the redline will play nicely with my V1 and the 9500ix will not.

    Anyone want to chime in???

OK so I am not going to purchase a redline- evidently they lack proper customer service-see other posts.

Anyway, I need a partner to run with the V1.

Any suggestions on which detectors play nice with the V1??

the redline works with the V1, but all you really need is a v1.

Don't use the v1 and ix at the same time.

Some of the members like to use an installed unit (Bel Sti-r or Escort 9500ci) with the V1.

Just wondering, why do you want two?

I don't understand what you mean about disabling the bands on it... Either RD is enough.

Cause the V1 I ahve is a v1.8 (supposedly better KA range -not sure) and the "one" time I miss an alert is one too many!! LOL Both mts are custom to the body ehr (top pillar) (convertible) one on each side of the car visors.

Just want to be safe- They usually throw the book at me cause of the car

Sell the 9500ix... if you have an iPhone then you can use RadarActive with your V1. That should be a good "cop locator."

Or you can sell the 9500ix and get a Whistler 3600 w/ GPS unit.

One of the members here suggested to just use the 9500ix as a LEO LOCATOR and turn of the K,KA.X bands - basically a glorified trapster setup cause the detector leaks

I've noticed very, very similar if not better Ka range on my ix compared to V1 but the V1's better on K band.

There's no need to run them both at the same time as that will decrease performance. I have both models and I use the V1 a lot in my area because K band is the main threat.

Sadly, it is not free. You have to buy a transciever for your iPhone. However, there is no monthly fee or any sort of subscription. The service itself is free.
I'm not allowed to post links, but Google RadarActive.
    It costs $89.

Hopefully you live near a populated area because the information is all based off of other people running the RadarActive app. It may not be very useful in rural areas.
