    Default HARDWIRE V1 Voltage Needed

Well, i decided to hardwire my v1 the non conventional way. I just found some wires leading to my dome/map lights and splice it and connected my v1. It powers up fine, and does not need the lights to be on to work.

If im receiving a low voltage, does that inhibit v1 performance. will it even turn on if it dosent have the required 12 volts?

The V1 main unit draws 425 mA DC @ full alarm. 225 mA DC at standby. The main unit requires 12-16 volts DC.

Make sure you have a good ground and are not taping into some other low voltage wire. It's always good to check with a simple voltmeter.
