Another V1 Ordered!

So I finally got a chance to order myself a V1! I'm psyched! Can't wait to get it in, program it, and put it too good use!

I have a question though, how many people are currently running two detectors (one being the V1)...I have the Whistler 695se, and I know it's no Redline for 'leak-ability', but I've had an idea floating around my head for a while: What if I was to set the 695 facing the rear on the rear windshield as a dedicated rear radar (in addition to the V1)?

I know running two isn't really advised, but would it be at least worth a shot to see how much interference it would cause? It's just a thought at this point, since I have the Whistler I figured I might think of some way to put it to use,as I'd rather not sell.

Can't wait for the V1 come in though!

Congratulations on the purchase. You will get many great years from the V1. Personally, I would not face the whistler to the rear. The V1 does a great job of picking up rear radar, you will be notified well in advance and I would not want to chance having the two detectors interfere with one another. Not to mention the time and effort in doing such a set up. Keep the whistler for when the V1 goes in for a tune up.

I would advise against running those two together.

X3... don't run them together. Keep the Whistler as a backup or to use in another car. Running together only works with M3-platform units like Redline or STi-D/STi-R+.

I'll take it from the pros, I'll just keep the 695 as a loaner/backup.

Something fun to do with the Whistler tho is to point it at any RD, and adjust the volume. It should emit 35.4 KA

Did that on my Bel RX65 when I had my 695SE....

Well the V1 finally came in, I took it for a test drive and I really like the feel of it...except the suction cups, for whatever reason I'm having issues getting the V1 straight, level and sticking with my windshield. I'll figure it out

I didn't run up against any radar threats on the test drive unfortunately, but I did come across two moto cops shooting laser...that got my blood rushing, I don't think he hit me, but if he had I would have been sunk. Happy that I've got the V1 now, but I definitely need to equip my car with LIs soon to complete the package ...that encounter would have ruined my day for sure.

There won't be any need for that. The V1's rear detection is amazing and the Whistler will do nothing but interfere with the V1 which may cause a performance decrease in either or both detectors.

Also, turn POP off on the V1.
