    Default V1 mute button question

Ok so I just purchased my V1 and CD today and can not wait to get them hopefully in the next few days. I want to hardwire the V1 high by my rear view mirror and then run the CD behind the glass by my odometer. I then wanted to purchase a simple mute button off of ebay and install it so I can still be able to mute the detector even when its behind the glass/up high. Basically I am wondering if there are enough ports for this to happen or if I would need to buy a splitter of some sort. I hope that makes sense and if you need help understanding my question let me know and hoping I can explain better. Thanks in advance!

yes I know that but I am going to be putting the display behind the plexiglass?? that covers all the gauges so I need to run a seperate wire out of there to be able to still mute the detector

Check out the Remote Audio Adapter. "Compact module has a speaker and two headphone jacks (one mini, 3.5mm; and one micro, 2.5mm). You also get remote control of all Control Knob and Lever functions including mute and computer modes; handy when you've mounted V1 out of reach. Connects with standard V1 power cords."

That is a good idea too. I'd just rather try and have a button more convenient if I could

You can wire a mute button in parallel with the one in the CD or tap the wires somewhere. I think a splitter will work as well, as long as it's a 4-wire splitter and not a 2-wire one. Split on the AUX jack on the hardwire jack, then plug your mute button into 1 side and the CD into the other.
