I got my first ever V1 last week and I also ordered a SAVVY unit with it for $50 extra.

I have been testing and playing with my V1 alone since they arrived but today I also connected up my SAVVY cable to the V1 to try it too.

So far I like the SAVVY product! I'm not sure if it is really worth $50 extra (you need to be the judge of that for yourself) but it is actually a really nice additional feature as it automatically quietens down the V1 for normal low speed driving around town but then it becomes loud again (automatically) at higher speeds which is when you need it to.

The initial detection "hit" volume is unaffected but it is as if you immediately had hit the mute button each time you get zapped.

Anyway, just my pennies although it is a bit like trying to explain the usefulness of the arrows to someone who has never tried them!

Does savvy mute Ka when drive under the set speed???????

Vr have such great random Ka filtering, myself I would rather hear the Ka alert as its 99% of the time a real cop. In saying that I could see how the diehard V1 user that has Ka guard turned off could benefit big time from this new savvy.

It seems to me that SAVVY mutes everything after the first alert beep (which is at normal loudness to get your attention) whenever you are driving below your set speed. The alert then continues at your preset mute volume.

If you increase speed during an alert it un-mutes it at the preset speed again.

It came set to 35 mph - I have now set mine up to 45 mph (I have a very quiet car) and I like this auto-mute deal.

Varactor, glad you’re enjoying the quiet ride! Question, doesn’t sound like you receive the “Dee Deet” if multiple bogeys are detected, although I imagine the display shows this, correct?

The Savvy would in effect be double pressing the V1 mute button below your set speed, one to do the initial alert mute and two the multiple bogeys mute (dee deet).

Each new contact is initially alerted at full volume - so yes you get that "deet deet" as you say at original FULL volume (with +1 on the bogey counter) and then it goes back to muted again.

Unless of course you speed up beyond your threshold speed and then everything is un-muted again.

So what do you guys think about the "Ka Band Auto Muting" with Savvy? Will the use of the Savvy product require reprogramming or turning off a lot of those features we have when we are Ka band auto-muting?

    Ideas?

I've got my V1 programmed to point that it's very much like savvy not speed sensitive thou (just 2 presses on the mute button and all good). I don't like the fact that it auto mutes Ka. So savvy while worthwhile for some IE wife using your car and she hates detectors savvys great! Other than that the auto mute feature are fine for me.

I think SAVVY is simply making the V1 aware of your speed and it assumes that you want it to be louder when you are driving faster.

Which makes sense to me and is a nice additional feature. But is it $50 nice? You must decide for yourself.

I'm talking about people that have the Savvy product and that use to use the K Band auto mute. How's everyone going to program their V1 now?
