I just purchased a V1 and have been experienceing false laser alerts everytime I pass an Express Toll license plate camera. Is this a common trait or is my V1 malfunctioning?

It might not be a false! LIDAR is actually used for speed measurement in some EZ-Pass tollbooth lanes in NY & MA. Different lanes have different limits (e.g., 5, 15, 20 mph), and I've heard that the fine can be automatically debited from the toll pass. Where is "Express Toll" used?
I just phoned the Express Toll CS # and was told they do take speed measurements but they never report them to the fuzz. None of my "other" dectors ever detected them. FYI this is in Denver, CO.
my V1's laser goes off toll scanner here in WA on 520 bridge too.
My v1 gives laser alerts at tolls as well, andd so did my laser jammer.
Its the infra red cameras that set them off
Happens to me too! Every once in a while i'll pick up scatter from the car going in before me too... just puts a little smile on my face knowing that my V1 can still do that lol
Sorry but you heard wrong. A tolling agency doesnt have any right to issue tickets.
The speed limits in the lanes are strictly for employee safety. You can rip through at 80mph and your transponder will be read.
Anyway, the laser alerts are actually to measure the height of the vehicle, to determine if the transponder is hooked up to a passenger vehicle or a semi etc.
Now you know.![]()
My 1.7 V1 goes off at entrance of West bound toll (East bound it does not)
But 1.8 V1 does not go off (either direction)...but it sometimes catch scatter car brake lights and does off, where as 1.7 does not false on brake light, hummm.
Both detect WSP laser just fine.
