    Default My impressions

Got the V1 for about a week now and had it in the car for the same amount of time. I have to say that I am amazed by the performance. I clocked about 2000 - 3000 cars both front and rear all fast I/O and V1 failed to detect 2 of my shots. That is simply incredible when you know that the Redline would detect about 5% of my shots and only in high reflective areas.

As I was coming back in my personal vehicle with the out of the box V1, I got hit with I/O with no warning whatsoever and the V1 easily detected it while the Redline failed to alert.

Also, when I was following my co-worker, I picked up all of his I/O shots with the V1. That one time he was about 5 miles behind me and I was still picking up his I/O shots.

Laser is also amazing, V1 alerted to all laser shots for direct hits and also alerted for a rear shot.

Long story short, I am completely sold to this unit and will be using it in combination with my STiR Plus in my personnal vehicle. (I will not use it in the city though, only on the highway)

Valentine could make a comercial out of these types of endorsements.

The Valentine One, the radar/laser detector recommended by most LEOs..........ha ha.

I'm actually serious. Most LEOs who also use radar detectors swear by it after doing their own tests. I guess after running radar for years they are not comfortable with anything that can be so easily defeated with a quick pump on the old hold button.

Escort could fix their little issue of course, they just choose for whatever reason not to.

Funny enough, you are totally right! I have personally stopped 2 V1 in 3 years and in both occasions, the radar hadn't been on for awhile as there was no traffic. On the other end, I have stopped hundreds and hundreds of 9500IX (which is by far the preferred RD in this area because of a huge city with sneaky light cam and speed cam nearby)

Another example is Laser Ally. If I am using Laser Atlanta or Truespeed or whatever I use it differently than Laser Ally because I know Ally is only detectable by the V1 (and LI new version I guess...) So I don't clock every single car with a non-Ally laser just for the heck of it. I only clock the ones I know for 100% are speeding up to my tolerance as every RD out there detects them. If you use a V1 and you are coming my way, you MAY be saved by a scatter just because of the way I am using Ally.

I know I explained my last thought poorly and it could be hard to understand...

The only other Leo I know that has a RD has a V1.

AvsBest, I see a vest in your future .

Thanks for the info, well written and a good read.

I will be interested in your take about any interference noted between the V1 and the STi-R Plus. From what several of the other members said there may be a slight amount of interference, but they indicated the benefits outweigh the negatives. I’m still on the fence post on that. I would imagine the design of the vehicle and reflectivity between the two RD’s antennas would come into play as the major contributor…. short of following a big rig and its reflective trailer.

Again thanks for the write up.

I rarely leave the city so I don't use both that often and when the likelihood of coming across an encounter is even smaller where I am. I based my choice mostly on Djrams80 videos on youtube and was satisfied that it was worth while so I went with it. He will be much better to tell you about it

I forgot to mention, at one point I thought about getting a Spectre IV just for the heck of it. I don't need it anymore I have a V1! I was actually surprised that it could literally be used as a RDD for cobras. Funny stuff

I was on the fence about buying a V1, but what you said here has pushed me right over. I like my 9500ix w/EL, but i am the only one using LIVE in my area.....bummer. I know it is new, so i will give it some time. I will put my V1 in my second car.
