    Default valentine 1 and Radaractive

I bought a v1 several months ago and was thinking of connecting to my iphone in order to integrate Radaractive. However I've been checking out Radaractive on my iphone and I don't get any alerts red light warnings. Does Radaractive have to be connected to the Valentine 1 in order to work? Is Radaractive no longer on line (there website seems to be down) Any insights would be appreciated

You need the transceiver. Its basically an adapter that goes between the phone and your V1. They don't sell them anymore. Wish they would upgrade it and the app to use with ESP.

No surprise there. At $80 a pop it was a hard sell and I think really hurt its chances of catching on. Not to mention that in order for the trap feature to be of any real use, there had to be another RadarActive user driving by. I'd be surprised if there were a 100 users.

Also, while the V1 is popular among radar detector enthusiasts, they are not very common in the general public since VR has less than a 2% market share. This would have to be adopted by a very high percentage of V1 users to become viable.

I think their drawback had to do with the app being released. Too many people thought the app did the work without the transceiver. Look at the reviews on the App store. I don't think $80 was that bad either. There are a lot more accessories out there for more than $80. The mute adapter that someone recently posted about is $119! I get more worth and use out of Radaractive and the transceiver than the mute adapter.
