Default Is it worth upgrading my V1 (2004~ purchase) 3.819 FW to the latest model?

Should I buy a new one and sell this one, or just upgrade this one for $199? What is your opinions on it? This one has been solid since I got it and the condition looks excellent. But I think it's way past it's time to get a new software version and wanted your opinion on it.

If I sell it, what is it worth and where?

Or should I sell it and pick up an Escort Redline as it seems people are liking them better.

I sold my 3.826 & 3.861 for almost $300 each shipped on eBay. You can do the math. Savy is worth it.

The fee;s with Paypal and Ebay take away a good chunk of that though.

If the performance is still great, why get rid of it unless you have money to burn, or need something in a new program that V1 offers?....

I wouldn't want the hassle of selling it... just send it in and pay the $189. I recently did. Probably needs a tune anyways.
As for Redline, I still feel better with the V1 and hold onto the RL in hopes of the new firmware. I run KA Guard off, with Savvy on 35mph. With guard on, the two are much more equal.

I am trying to sell it but so far no luck. The thing about it is my cables are all the same age, and showing it. I would need to buy new ones of those too if I do an upgrade and the cost would be more than just buying it new and selling it.

A couple years back, and I don't recall when, one of the upgrades gave me new cables and even mounts. It was probably the 1.6=> Laser since it changed the case as well. The 1.8=>1.85 does not. My 1.8 was so out of tune that I just left in in the trunk for a long time.

I feel better about having the crystal controlled tuning now since I've seen what happens when it goes out of tune and it was not good That alone makes the upgrade worth it. Problems is that going to the redline from the V1, there are times where you are frustrated because you need to know where the source is. 'Is the LEO doing IO a mile behind me, is he 2 miles ahead of me? ' You just don't know with the redline. With the V1, you know and your reaction to the threat changes accordingly.

Likewise, I feel I need to have the ZR4 with the Redline just to have decent laser detection (forget shifting). The V1 has saved me with scatter before, so I'm not going to discount the potential.

Well since it seems I have had people interested but no one wants to buy it, and getting low ball offers is getting out of hand. So I am thinking about just sending it in for an upgrade. But will they replace the whole unit with a newer one? The case, and plastic lenses are all a bit rough looking and wanted to know if they will swap those out if they don't just swap the unit? $199 is a bit, and me needing to buy a new spiral cable, cig adapter, (hard wire kit is still okay), but also a stealth kit will cost a good penny added.

    What do you guys think?
