Default Time to buy a new V1 unit replacing my old ........

Until last year 2011 I've been happy with my V1 I bought in June 2008.
    Can't remember if it's a 3.862 or 3.863 or 3.864 version?
    Serial number ends with 962.

This version has a lot of ghosting issues and lately I have recieved alot of false LASER alerts.

I have emailed Valentine company about these issues, I was told that certain new cars use laser guided cruise control systems or have LED lights that could make my V1 go nuts?
Also I was asked if I had a gps in my car.
Yes I have a factory fitted gps but it's never been used.
Does my V1 sense gps units from other cars in traffic?

    Question is?
Do I have to worry about the performance V1 giving false LASER alerts?
    Is it going bad?

    Currently I don't own a car so I use my dads car, it's a 2000 w220 Mercedes S500 where I hardwired the V1 unit.
Car is fully optioned, could it be possible that my V1 is allergic to this MB electronics?

Question about new V1 units manufactured in 2012.
I'm going for a new V1, how many times a year does V1 company reliese new V1 with upgraded software?
Latest version is 3.893, when will a new version come out?

What has been improved between my old V1 and the last one out today?
Less ghosting and false alerts on new V1 units?

    Thanks for your help.

The V1 is the most sensitive window mounted untit there is, so yes, it will give you 'false' alerts for laser. No one knows when they release anything new until it hits the market. Put your serial number in the Upgrade Section of V1's site. It'll give you all the info there.

My old v1 was about 5 or so years old and a few times laser was almost constant on. After a few weeks it went back to normal

I have it mounted on my sunvisor on passengers side, last year I never had any laser alerts!
    Why now this year?
Is it acting weird or is it me?
I had it checked on V1 serial number, it says I have the latest and the best, it's clearly it's an old version today.

i had a .872 that had false laser alerts. at the end of the day the unit was faulty as the alert would always sound when using different electrics in my car(s) the unit had some sort of power issue.
