Default How much would you pay for a battery powered v1

as a add accessory. With the advent of new li-po batteries I believe this would be eminently do-able and could fit under the bottom of your v1.

it wouldn't cycle but run full power

It would be really only of interest to people that switch cars a lot as you say.

I can certainly see the use for it, but I think at least for me, it would turn into the same thing as a BT headset for a phone... Use it while the battery works and then forget to charge it for 2 weeks

I only own one car so doesnt do much for me.

ya, the charging thing is the problem

I might just make a unit for myself that has various power plugs to use with different detectors.

I hate cords and wring them all up to get them out of sight. ;(

Not interested. Don't want to have to worry about getting nailed because a battery discharged. Also, don't want to have to deal with constantly recharging. I have hardwire kits installed in all of my cars.

I wouldnt touch a cordless. Especially when passport came out with cordless radar detectors I notice unless a new battery the range would be ok, but there was terrible range once the battery started to die. So, I wanna have a 12v power supply contant uninterupted so cordless is a no for me at least.

Most cordless systems actually turn on and off very fast to save power ! :0

Whistler claims their new cordless detectors don't do this.
