V1 Detecting Laser

It seems the only choice for a RD able to detect Laser is the V1.

Just How effective is it really in picking up these scattered Laser bursts in the distance in front of you?

Do you have a fighting chance of picking it up if the LEO targets a vehicle in front of you around a curve/bend ?

What "other" counter measures can I use to help prevent being targeted by Laser? Veil and what else?

I drive a big Expedition... an easy target so I need all the help I can get.

V1 is a good laser detector but 98% of the time it will NOT save you from a laser ticket

get veil and a laser jammer

If I haven't said it before welcome to the board Praz, it will altert you if you have bear bait in front of you. This has happend to me on 4 occassions. One time I had a jammer, the other 3 I didn't. But like F399 said, you really need Veil, laser shield and a jammer. Get them all through Roy. PM him and he may give you a discount.

I disagree. I have picked up scatter from rabbits in front more than not. If your the only one on the road and get fired from a distance and you have other combat, like a Veil and a Laser Shield Combo from Radar roy ( http://www.radarbusters.com/products...eil-shield.asp ) you have a fighting chance to slow down. If your V1 sounds off. But close up, forget it. Hopefully you see him first. But that goes for instant on radar as well. But it is true, the V1 has the upper advantage to sniffing out laser scatter.

i know i will not depend on my V1 alone to save me from laser

Ive picked up scatter more than 50% of the 20 or so times I have been fired at.

I guess that all depends on the LEO and the traffic and the gun and the angle and distance etc. etc.

I have to agree with the Newbe F399, each time I have encountered laser my V1 has picked up scatter, true each time the warning distance varies. This last time, the officer must have been drunk, I got like 4-5 seperate warnings....

So your saying it was scatter from another rabbit and not a direct hit?
