    Default Driving through Ontario Canada

Within the last 6 months, I got pulled over twice in Canada. Both the times, my V1 didn't go off. I called V1 and the rep told me that OPP probably used Spectre which detects radar detector and guessed on how fast I was traveling. Anyone else had similar experience in Canada?

You need to pick up a BEL STI that's 100% spectra proof..... 8) Welcome to the board by the way....

    thanks

V1 rep made it sound like there was no RD out there with 100% Spectre proof.

Does Bell unit work for all 3 lvls of Spectre?

The Bel STi is completely(100%) immune to all generations of Spectre guns.

I'm not quite ready to dish out $450 for a new RD. I guess the best solution for me is keeping my V1 and a cheap Radio Shack RD that I can give away to OPP if I get pulled over.

Good thinking man. Or even better get a really cheap used one on Ebay, I have gotten them as low as .99!

BS. Unless you were getting pulled for the RD and not speeding.

Possibly a laser gun or a vascar. Does the V1 have good line of sight through the windshield? Perhaps it should be sent back to VR for recalibration.

The rep sounds almost irresponsible by guessing that they guessed the speed. Maybe it missed a laser hit, entirely possible... but guessed?

does your car have one of those metallic coated windshields that cuts way down on radar detection range?
