Default New Member Sharing Valentine 1 Story

It's twelve seventeen at night. You got your trusty Valentine One that has paid for itself the 20th time over and prolly for all you know more. You're coming around the bend on the freeway. It hasn't given a beep at the straightaway.

You ponder how crappy the date was that you just got off of. The girl was a ditz. Not worth your time. She texts you saying she likes you and wants to do it again.

No way. You put the pedal to the floor and just let it go. Your flying and gaining against the center divide and you can feel your car dip at every uneven facet of the crappy freeway under construction. The whistle of the wind against your car and doors trying to peel its way in. You stick it in holding firm to the wheel. Watching the needle at it pricks 120 MPH and continues to pull. You get to that one thirty and over. Pull it to the next lane right.

Using your blinkers of course cause your a considerate fast driver. The Valentine not a peep from it the whole way.

    Beep.......Beep..Beep

    ****!

Slow it down, brake it down.

Take that Blinker all the **** the way to the right lane. You're getting off this freeway no matter what. Bring the speed all the way to sixty. Then to fifty for good measure. All of a sudden and you realize that its the grandest of timings. Your Valentine Breeps like its going to die. Like the Life status line of your heartbeat and you feel like you just dropped dead.

But wait. You're slow and you're calm. You have nothing to worry about. You enjoy it to a certain satisfaction.

The off ramp is one long dark corridor to the stop light. You turn all your lights off. Just because you think it would be cool to ride down that corridor as dark as it is. You don't use the breaks until the very last second. You bring it back one notch. Fogs and running lights come on. Realize this and bring then bring the full headlights on and press the fogs off.

You're stopped at the red with the Valentine breeping like hell. You lower the volume so all you can see are the bright dots and arrow flashing back the way you came. Two headlights come down the off ramp unusually fast. You wonder. Was that the mustang you peeved right by on your way in.

He pulls in next to you. At first you don't want to look. You don't really want to give him a look cause you passed him fairly.

Curiosity gets to you and you look at his car as you notice that on the side of it, it says: Sheriff.

    Now how do you feel?

Yea that’s how I felt thirty-two minutes ago.

He's checking you out and looks towards your Valentine as you watch his head motion towards it.

He starts to get edgy with his car and tries almost to leave the intersection and quite amusingly get away from you of all things.

He busts out at the green only to hit another red. There's no one at this intersection and he goes for the left turn. But then oddly he goes for your lane and gets in front of you. You break it and let him take the lane. He rounds off his yellow flashers up top and goes. All the way to the next light and makes a left on the following light at Union.

He's gone and you just got away scott free.

    Now how do you feel?

Yea that's how i felt thirty minutes ago.

On the way home going down Camden, you can only chuckle and laugh with deep anxiety of exasperation of much you love not only your beautiful German built BMW and literal lifesaving Valentine, but the speed and exhilaration it brings with almost being caught yet getting away with it. You start to ponder if anything will every match that again.

    Just to cover my ass.

Events described are based on a setting of junction i-880 to 17 towards Camden exit.

*Events may be fictitious and can't be held admissible in the California Traffic Courts based on a story told on a web log that contains so many other unbelievable stories and is with that acknowledgement just a story as is with no credible evidence provided by CHP or Santa Clara Sheriffs for any form of prosecution or deliberation.

I have more stories actually that aren't as storyish as this one where I did get adrenaline rushes that were actually greater than this one night. If yall want then I could post some of those up too.

    EDIT: It was K Band.

Well done my friend. Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will have no trouble making some alliances!

Brent is going to rave about this one....great report. What band was it? Ka?

On a side note, you might want to upgrade that 3.824 to a 826, you have that K band automute flaw.

I can see why your sig says 4 tickets before the V1, seems as if they were well deserved.

Anyways, good to know its working for you... welcome to the board

Great story, what I am curious about is what happened with arrows? Great to hear one of the top tier detectors doing it's job.

Well, there you have it you simply picked up a drone radar as CHP use Ka only.
If that Sheriff had a radar gun on and locked you I don't think that you would be posting today.
Funny thing is that most LEO's and especially CHP don't use their radar much to catch speeders like you and if you were caught it would not be a ticket it would be jail time at that speed.
You seem a lot like Radar 4 Ever drive as fast as you can and be invincible to anything happening.
I just hope that if your luck meets the ultimate fate you only take out your self and not other people.
A radar detector is supposed to be a tool not a license to kill people.

At that speed I don't think he has a clue what the arrows were doing as he was probably just trying to keep the car on the road.

I know that near where I was there is a drone radar that spits out K band.
Arrows indicated blast from behind me btw. However, I was passed the area that does that, at least I'm pretty sure because I got my usual blast then it died and I recieved another steady blast. Both blasts happened when I was going between 65-55. I was really hunkering down slow when I caught wind of radar.

I take a little, but just only a tidbit offense to "At that speed I don't think he has a clue what the arrows were doing as he was probably just trying to keep the car on the road."
I have a greater sense of awareness and my eyes are constantly scanning the road and everything going on in front of me when traveling high speeds. Unfortunately, and I know this is bad, but I tend to forget and not pay attention as much to the things going on behind me. This is in my rational because by the time I look back everything is about a half a football field or more away from where I was.

Yes at that speed and speeds that I travel it is definite jailtime and suspension or even cancellation of license given my past offenses. So far, I am sitting at 2 points on my record because of traffic school and another year and a half and the 2 other will slide off.

"A radar detector is supposed to be a tool not a license to kill people. "
Very well aware and it helps much. In conjuction with my police scanner they both help insulate me much now.

Anyways, thanks for being so kind in your responses thus far. I know a lot of you may want to be "tear my arms off" and such, but thanks for only shedding the minimal of blood responses.

I look forward to frequenting these forums and answering or responding to comments made.

I have two more storyish compilations written around. I even have video, but you wouldn't want to see those cause they'd cause an outcry and make some people blood bubble.

all I know is it only took 1 time, just once for me to have a NYST hit me with laser for me to learn my lesson. The V1 was like *weee-doo wee-doo* and I'm like ok there is no way to defend against that. I didn't get pulled over or anything but the experience reminded me that yes as mentioned above, a good RD is an extension of our senses ------- a tool. If you are speeding and a LEO smart well trained LEO has laser or instant on K-Ka its all over. I do about 10mph over the limit in light/moderate expressway traffic maybe 15mph if I have to get by someone; when I'm alone on the road(anywhere) I do 5mph over, other than that I try and drive defensively and stay alert. That being said I and still going to apply veil and user lasershield in the near future.

What model BMW are you driving? I figured I ask before Brent does.
