    Default New V1

I just got my V1 today and i was wondering what "j out" means. Also does anyone know where i can find what band of radar my city/county uses. Before i got my V1 i had a cobra something or other i got from best buy for $100 and just for grins i hooked them both up, the V1 reported a x band moving from rear to side to front and the cobra cycled through all bands except lazer. why would the cobra respond to my V1.

Cobras also known as Crappas leak energy that set off other detectors. Your V1 should recognize that signal as Junk (J) and dismiss it as a non LEO (law enforement officer source).

If you search the board there are lists of what radar bands are used where. Where do you live at? By the way congradulations on the best RD you can get.

CONGRATULATIONS..........welcome to the Forum and the V1 Club....

the J function is a Junk feature for "bogus alerts" and is not problem free, some members have reported real threats being J'd out by their V1's

Cobra's are crappy detectors, and you should NEVER run 2 RD's at the same time.

    Enjoy your V1........

i dont think the 1.7 has the J feature as it was created to eliminate falses with the 1.8, because the 1.8 has pop detection, which tends to false a little more.

be happy you dont have the 1.8 and dont have to deal with the J, just about everyone disables their pop mode anyway (i personall havent but many have). and there's still a bunch of hardcore v1 people around that prefer the 1.7 over the 1.8, i mean they wouldnt trade their 1.7 for a brand new v1 for free :!:

which version do you have, turn it on, holding the mute button until it goes into programming mode, then push the button once and see what digits it flips at you. then share, and the folks around here will know exactly which version your using and whats your v1's capabilities are. hope this helps  oh yeah dont forget to turn off the v1 after you check the version because it will be in programming mode.
