j/k...... The one that you were talking about is a kind of decent unit maybe not as good as the PRO 58, a friend of mine has it, he said it has worked well for him. I would say something that maybe other Whistler users might not like to hear is that it would false a little bit too much sometimes depending from where you live.

If you want to know about Whistler units you can also ask directly Michael B, he works for Whistler I'm sure he would answer any question that you have (He is a member of the forum)

Why? You are going to tell me that the PRO 58 doesn't false much at all, I have it, it is a very good RD but is does false a little bit too much sometimes.

You know I just sent my whistler pro-58 in to get retuned and everything. Purchased a Valentine.

It may false more than an Rx-65, V995, or X50--I don't know, since I've never used them--but I'm convinced many of the problems people have with falsing on the Pro 73 (and the 58, too) is due to settings. I run mine normally on City 1 mode, which reduces X-band sensitivity. During a 75-mile drive up (or down) I-25 between Colorado Springs and Denver, I average about 5 falses. That's a mostly urbanized route. If I use SH 83, which is countryside, I get 4, and ALL are in the cities of Denver and the Springs.

If I use City 2 mode, which turns X off, it cuts those numbers in half.

The Whistler units are VERY sensitive to X-band and laser. Airport approach radars set off the x-band and the airport VASI systems set off the laser alert. You have to be fairly close to get a K or Ka false, and mostly what I get those from are other RDs (read: crapras) and the occasional door opener.

Turning VG2, POP, and SWS off helps reduce falses a lot too.

I'd like to try an X50 or Rx65 one of these days, just to see if the filtering is really that much better.

Well I run it on City 2, no X band here in FL, but it confuses X abnd with K band, also it would confunse K with Ka when I would get close to door openers, but I would alwasy said that little thing pay for itself a couple of times giving me good Ka instant on detection on highway

I didn't think we have X-band here in Co, but I'm pretty sure a State Trooper was running it the other day with a semi pulled over, so I hesitate to turn it off completely unless I'm in a town I know.

Yes, it does confuse the bands sometimes -- that should be easy for them to fix, so I'm kind of surprised they haven't.
