    Default XTR-560 Demo

Thought I would share the teach mode and some functions of Whistlers current top of the line XTR-560.

    Default thx

Thx, I enjoyed that John in NC! The voice sounds like one of my old Whistlers that I used to own.

Glad you enjoyed it, was playing around with a digital camcorder and some software that came with it. I figured why not record the XTR-560 to see how it worked.
The music and outer mat came into the video by mistake but thought it had a neat effect so I left it.

Thinking on changing some of the voice alerts by having my wife do them with a wav studio program. My wife has a much sexier voice. :-)

LOL, I felt like I was at an arcade, especially for Laser. :P It would be funny you get the laser alert, you get pulled over, and it plays a "Game over" sound.

Nice video. Was it just me, or did it say "Caution" when the Ku band showed? That was alot of SWS messages  Too bad it never took off. :?

Yeah, guess if it's laser your screwed. Maybe the pacman sound when he gets eaten would be good or how bout "License and Registration"!
Yes, KU default says Caution. I disable that function since not used.
Got to play with it today against a your speed K band sign.
Range was a little over 1/4 mile over the back side of a hill.
I turned around and made another pass to compare it to my old Bel XKR.
The whistler had much better range but not a true comparision of a new Bel since the one I got is about 20 year old technology inside. But with the Bel on the dash, I could see my speed on the sign then it gave me a beep with one bar LOL.
I knew I needed a newer detector today I got to prove it.

Someday soon I hope to see a long range detection on a straightaway over flat ground but from what I see so far with my normal drive around turns, hills etc. I get warning time but not a whole lot.

Noticed an interesting caveat with the Whister XTR-560.

It is supposed to pick up multiple threats.

For example if you are picking up X band and a K band comes into range it will alert you of that.

I had two situation where I picked up X then a K band alert came into range while still picking up X. In both instances it worked but the Radar alert stays on X band chirps does not change to K.
