Is the XTR-500 at 139 the same detection as the XTR-690 and pro-78? If so than WOW what a bargain!

Wow, that's cool. Little Periscope LEDs that flash when there is an alert. I'm guessing that is assuming that the unit is dash mounted (as opposed to installed on the windsheild.)

I can see how it would be kinnda annoying in a city.

ill wait until tests come out for these new detectors. If there good, I probably go with the PRO-78 it looks nice.

It's great to see Whistler offering two rd's that are VG-2 immune. I want to see these tested.

Some of the last few models that Whistler has put out tends to be on the gimmicky side.

I can do without the "periscope thing"

How about a few less gimmicks and better filtering?

the periscopes look kinda tacky. i hope you can turn them off.
