Nice info, and it easily explains the observations made by others about a quick-triggered radar on an Escort/Bel/etc detector not showing.

Wow...great info! Thank that Mike guy for us!
its amasing what stuff theses electronic people know!
its like when i was talking to mike valentine.. i was amased by what he was saying... about the laser detection and stuff..
very impressive... but everyone has their idols..
electronic people are my favorite...!
The guy seems like he's very knowledable, as well as a straight shooter. I give him kudos for being willing to share information that is this detailed with customers.

I wish we could get more people like him involved here in the forum!
Their insights and knowledge would be invaluable.
Plus with actual user input and own testing I am sure this would help the companies make better products based on "real world" results and findings.
I finally got a chance to read through this thread. That's some incredible information! I agree that there ought to be more techs like him. He didn't divulge any company secrets but he definitely helped us out! And it sure makes me wish I hadn't bought my girlfriend that Cobra. Their polluting detection scheme is just messed up.
I don't get it......all you guys that have Whistlers seem to get alot of POP falses. I have POP on and it never has falsed once.
He sad that turning POP off will increase sensitivity to 1-2dB???????? Is it true ???? I suppose that the POP mode deeply scans what happen in front.
Sounds like Whistler has some leading edge stuff going... seems they even have some stuff that the top companies like Beltronics doesn't. I'm surprised you can get such a good price on Whistler's detectors. I think companies like Whistler may someday have us all saying "the big four" instead of three.
