Do I need Add-A Circuit to Hardwire XTR-690
So do I need to go get an add-a-circuit to hardwire my XTR-690 or can I just use the male connector that comes with the hardwire kit??
If I need an add-a-circuit would radio shack carry it?
I'm not very good with electrical stuff so try to explain what I need to do.

I didn't. I hardwired it into my moon roof power and have had no problems.
What did you plug the male connector to??

I cut it off and stuck the bare wire into the positive for the moon roof.
I also cut off the connector end. I horseshoed the wire around a leg of a mini-fuse and stuck it in the ACC slot in my fusebox. Works PERFECTLY.
Ok I figured it out it can just plug into the positive for the fuse box!

Ya the reason I didn't put it underneath the mirror because the sun heats it up a lot when driving.
And it is much more visible to ppl outside the car. That doesn't matter as much because I usually take mine down.
Whats the lowest voltage that I the XTR-690 needs to perform optimally?
It seems like im getting less voltage by hardwiring it like 11-12.
Where as I would get 13-14 from my cigarette lighter.
Is this anything I should be concerned about?
