    Mike is replacing the lens on my XTR-690, too. I hope to get it back soon for testing.

    Kudos to Mike and the Whistler guys for being so customer-oriented. That's how good reputations are made. I only wish there was a way to guarantee that when I order one from somewhere it's got the latest updates. I wonder if Mike can give us an idea of when these updates will hit the retail channels. Not that I mind sending it in when I buy one, but you know how agonizing it is to wait for a new toy then to have to send it back.....

    One thing's for sure, I'm sold on Whistler's new lineup. Even the cheapy ones are based on better platforms than the Crapras.

    That looks fantastic -- they got rid of the overkill layer of glass over the front that was reflecting like hell. And the new screen is also very noticeably sunken in, which will definitely reduce glare from , say, dashboard reflections.

    Not to mention the reduced thickness of the lens will probably work wonders on the viewing angle.


    This is excellent.
