New XTR-690 Lens! (Updated! Pics added)

So while my XTR-690 was with Mike B. the new lenses came in! HORAAY!

First impressions just from driving around this evening are the it defintely makes a noticable difference.

Reflections and glare have been cut WAY down. I moved it around and the view angle is very much improved.

Also when I was wearing my polarized sun glasses I would barely be able to see the display because of some rainbox reflections on the screen (don't really know what was causing it). Now those are gone and I can see the screen VERY clearly even with my sunglasses on!

I haven't had it in direct sunlight yet, but so far it seems like a big improvement.

i figured out a neat trick for myself, i use it in off-dim mode, so basically it look like it is off all the time but when it detects signal in lights up.

best at night time, cos it is totally dark until it detects signal and lights up blue.

Yep I love that mode switch to it whenever I'm driving at night!

I remember that when I was at the GOL tests in Arizona, with my sunglasses on I couldn't see the display...
