Outstanding. I've had one hit at nearly 4 miles, and had a good I/O encounter, too. I am very happy with the Ka performance.Originally Posted by guit123
Stealth seems to always get a bazillion mile range on all his products... He must have subscribed to a premium Ka channel with his local cops ;-)
man i never had more than a mile encounter in city, unless you are onhighway i dont think it is possible to get 4 mile range in city?? or is it??
The best I've ever gotten on Ka with my 78 was almost a mile down a straight road against a Kustom 35.5. The worst was about 200 ft (LEO shooting 35.5 diagonally across the street, not forward facing). I don't generally see too much Ka around here. Just a LOT of K.
Nah. I'm just in an area where the LEOs love constant-on, the ground is flat, with lots of straight roads, and the air is dry.Originally Posted by jdong
Sure, the 4-miler is the exception, but the range is excellent nonetheless.
My Ka detection on my xtr-690 is freakin awesome man. It is even better than my bel Vector 995!!![]()
I wouldn't doubt a upper-percentile XTR-690 can outperform the average or lower-quartile Bel 995 in Ka band performance... particularly as we get the software update and turn POP OFF.
I do expect that the Bel would still win on X and K band, particularly X band.
Especially X-band. But this is K-country out here in Colorado Springs, and I get very good range on it. Not quite as good as the Ka -- but 2 miles on speed signs is more than sensitive enough.Originally Posted by jdong
Here in Texas where its flat ! I normaly get 3-4 miles warning on highway
on Ka. Most 34.7 Stalker is used for Troopers. 35.5 seems hard to pick up
I have only recieved a mile or so on 35.5 (PRO 78
