Default Is mounting the Pro78 on the left side of the dashboard good

Ok, I have a Whistler pro78 Rev C. I had it in my Pontiac Grand am mounted high above the RVM with the suction cups. I just got rid of that car and bought a Chrysler Pacifica. I wanted to also mount it high above the RVM but the windshield has that black stuff on top in the middle and the suction cups wont stick. So I put it on the left side of the dashboard with double sided tape. I know radar detectors are legal in NC but I don't like to rub it in so to speak so I like to have it where it's hard for others to see it. I don't want any negative attention from leos. With that said, here's the question, will I get good reception with the location I chose? It's on the far left of the dashboard near the pillar on the dashboard. I would put it in the center but again, people outside will see it and I don't want that so thats why I chose the far left corner. Any disadvantages compared to mounting it high above the RVM?

good for pick up the RADAR signal ,bad to pick up laser! But anyway it can't pick up laser, even if it can it means u get a ticket. So mounting high is good for all RD,especially PRO78!

OMG!!!!!!!! I'm getting advice from joseph12!!!!!!! This world is surely coming to an end. Joseph, you seem to be traumatized as a result of getting a rear laser ticket with the pro 78. I can assure you, joseph, that even if you had the top detector for laser (and laser falses), the V1, you probably would not have gotten an alert and if you did, your speed would have already been measured. The Best leo detector is your own eyes!!!!! An RD is just a tool to assist you. It does not make you immune to tickets!! No one should depend on radar detectors for laser alerts.

The only issue I see here is that the window is curved and as such your detector will be pointing a about 20 degrees to the left unless you can tweak the window mount bracket to allow the radar detector to point straight down the road.

If you are to bend the bracket, do not do it while it is inserted into the unit.
Take the bracket out and place into a bench vice then try and tweak it.

I didnt use the suction cups, I used double sided tape and made sure the detector was pointing straight ahead. I should be ok right?

As long as it is pointed staight down the road I would not see a problem with it!

Look at my mount i love it. great detection and your unit stays very cool during the summer time. u can see it on my pro78 Revc videos. Just hard wire it to the fuse box and then go to radio shack and buy the superlock fasteners.
