Default Been running with POP on and Filter mode.

After a while with running Filter 2 and POP off, I thought I would give POP and Filter a shot.

I did have a few Cobra falses, but they were all POP, so I knew what was up. I had 3 experiences getting constant on before my POP off Filter 2 ever did! I would get a short blip of radar around 25 meters before a normal alert (Happened on Ka stationary and a K band speed sign twice)

I must say, I am very impressed with performance, and honestly thought the detector held its own better besides false alerts...

I think i is all in the Filter mode.... I am going to try again just filter POP off to see if I can get even better range!

Ya I am currently running Filter and POP OFF for a while and I get pretty good range. When I turned POP ON for one short trip I got two Ka 9 blasts with nothing in sight and a K 7 blast. But that was city diving and not highway or expressway driving

I really think Filter mode works wonders for sensativity...

Yeah, POP ON will make you very prone to Cobra falsing, so I typically keep it off on my Whistlers.

FILTER mode accepts shorter signals than FILTER 2 mode, which is good for when you are approaching a choppy signal (environmental obstructions, around-the-curve attack) where even a half-second delay introduced by the filter is precious time lost.

Ya, leave it on FILTER mode when ever possible. You can still detect POP with POP off/FILTER, there is just a lower chance. Only use FILTER 1/2 if u need to because of falseing.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to mention, only Whistler gives the user three selectable levels of filtering aggressiveness -- other detector makers choose a default that is good for some but not for others! Kudos to Whistler for giving users this level of flexibility.

For my Pro78 evaluation leading up to my Pro78 review, I ran POP off and Filter mode since POP isn't used in my area.

So which filter mode should I run with POP off for maximum range?
