Furthermore, the GPS-assisted lockout is NOT the same thing as you looking at a single frequency on the frequency display:

    (1) The GPS lockout looks at ALL present frequency and even if one of those frequencies is unknown it will break the silence, regardless of whether or not it's the strongest. The frequency display shows Ka, K, X in that order and breaks ties within each bracket by signal strength. This is NOT the same amount of information as the GPS has to make its decision.

    (2) Don't ASSUME police radar is somehow always stronger than a false location. The opposite could very well be true.
Thank you, you pretty much clarified what I was trying to say in the post above mine

Well I don't trust the amateur's at GOl results very much. Maybe when speedzones does a test this will proves out. I have heard a lot of pro things about this system though from owners themselves.

Yes F/D isn't EXACTLY like Escort's system but the principle is exactly the same. It takes a false alarm location with associated freq.s and stores it in it's memory. Personally IMO if you say it stores ALL freq of falses in that location I believe that might be more of a problem then judging them for yourself because I believe you may have more chance to miss a real police radar unit between all these locked out false's.

Show me an example of how a police radar unit with much higher power levels then store openers sitting in the same location as a store door opener and monitoring radar would be "over-ridden" by a store opener. Got any videos because I would like to see this for myself.

Personally I don't like the 9500 series computer judging my falses for me and locking them out whatsoever. Too much room for errors IMO. What I would like is a Rd that has both F/D's and separate signals graph all at the same time working togather. That would be real real nice..

Beltronics and Escort techs are you listening????

HA, speedzones testing better than the GOL. Look it doesn't take someone with a PHD in EE to push the damn lock out button, and pull the trigger on a radar gun nearby. Keep denying everything we're saying if you want. Continuing this argument is an utter waste of time for me. I'm done.

Gol are well meaning armatures using second hand e-bay equipment. Personally I prefer professorial people doing the testing with new equipment and suitable long distance open road professional radar testing sites.

Denying everything "we" are saying? I see only you and another person here commenting on this whatsoever. Your a group of two. Actually more like one..

Yes it is a waste of time for you because I have day in and out of experience with F/D and it truly works very well. You haven't obviously or you wouldn't protest so much and tell me I was wrong. Is it perfect? No I am sure it isn't and I am sure there might be some strange very rare occurrence that it might fool one. If other systems were absolutely perfect you might have a point though.

IMO and I don't know where this got started but there is a general misconception toted by nonusers that f/D is totally useless because MW's Frq sources vary slightly over time and the display won't show this. In fact when FRQ first came out I held these misconceptions also. I eventually happen to buy a detector with it and gave it a try for fun. The surprising thing to me was even though the FRQ/dsp on any detector are far from super accurate it is quite useful IRL in detecting separate MW sources. These sources are sufficiently different to tell each other apart which is a real nice and unexpected feature. I have seen other people who have made the same observation using it so I am far from alone.

IMO it is a very worthwhile function. Great for sorting out "road crapas" btw also.. Bought a detector on a whim without FD and tried it out. Not enough info whatsoever. Went right back to my F/D.

I agree. Speedzones uses new police equipment and suitable sized test courses free of stray MW radiation. Gol...

I'm sorry but I lost faith in speedzones on their last test that amounted to:

    Radar alerted yes/no
