Yes I did say that and like I said it makes no difference in falses the thing still falses only more with the POP off.

I let Jimbonzzz use it for a couple of weeks and he had the same results as me with it falsing on KA.
Jim and I thnk the unit is reporting some k alert falses as KA falses.
I know if I trigger my kustom falcon K band gun fast enough it will report ka alert on the unit.
My 1773 falses the same as the pro58 does.
I think it is just a whistler trademark hahahahaaha.

I am glad yours does not false as much as mine does, I guess you could say that is both good and bad news.
Good news it does not false as much, bad news may also mean that it may not be as sensitive or not working correctly.

My PRO 58 has been sent back to Whistler and it is within factory specs so I know it is working correctly.

Just last night I am driving with it and all of a sudden it goes to KA pulse at full strength and I was the only one on the interstate and no one was around for miles.
The V1 just sitting as quiet as could be, If I would have belived the whistler I would have been slamming on the brakes

I think I am going to get rid of the PRO58 and try one of the new models such as the 1776 or 1778 even though whistler says the pro and the 1700 series are built to the same specs.

Yeah it did report some known K-Band sources as Ka. compu44 said the same thing about another Whistler unit...

That unit was a Whistler 1665 (I think). It's also happened to me with a Cobra 9870. Something about the cheapies I guess.

Well, I finally got two hits on this detector, x and k band. I don't quite think it's enough for a part 2 yet but I'm getting there. My first encounter was on a small two lane road. I pulled out onto the road and laid on it, then stopped at a stop sign. After that I cruised along at a more easy pace. I was going about 52 in the 40 zone. I went over this huge hill on that road, and I mean huge, not in height, it's probably about 100 feet high, but really steep. After that, at about 750 feet from the bottom of the hill is a stoplight. It was red, so I stopped and was in the left turn lane waiting for the green arrow. I saw the pro-73 go off, but with weak signal, starting out at 1 and gaining to 3, nothing new with the pro-73 as it falses every now and then (it's really not as bad with falsing as I thought it would be, you learn how it works, and can figure our false vs. real pretty quickely). Then it goes to 4, then 5 and I knew that this was real, so I started looking around. Sure enough, a cop ended up driving up behind me with mobile constant on k band. Unfortunently, I didn't look in time to see if the pro-73 picked up the signal before the cop came over the hill. The next encounter was x band, I was driving on a somewhat hilly portion of road (small hills this time), and started picking up x band. I was looking around and I couldn't get any kind of visual, and I started to think that the cop was hiding somewhere really good, because for quite a while I couldn't see anyone anywhere. Then when I went over the 3rd or so small hill, and I saw the cop, parked at the battery store. (However I didn't see a car that he had pulled over, but the lights were flashing and his radar was on, so something was going on, weird). The x band detection was impressive, I had more than enough time to slow down, and the cop car was facing to my left, so I'm guessing the gun was too. So therefore if he had been shooting radar in my direction, I would of probably gotten an even better detection distance. Note that just like the first encounter, this officer was using constant on radar.

Will get back with more when I get more encounters!
