Default City 1 mode (not in the city) 690se

The last couple weeks I had to commute out of the city daily so I thought forget highway mode lets try City 1 Low X. Reason being the highway I would take was flooded with multiple weak X band signals that went on and on for miles. Muting an alert would leave me open to attack since the unit fails to notify the user of a band change if one alert is muted(ex. Ka overrides X but no sound). I was expecting the X/K confusion to happen almost instantly but to my surprise City 1 mode was working properly. The X alert would not be shown unless the signal strength was at least level 4/9. That alone made my detector super quiet along my route. However coming back into town it didn't take long for the X/K confusion to begin again.

Result: City 1 mode fails in the city
    /end rant

I hope the hell Whistler fixes this XK ID issue once and for all!
IMO, the City modes could be considered false advertising since X band energy WILL TRIGGER AN ALERT!

I agree. I don't have a lot of x band signals around here so I normally leave all bands enabled, (I did run into the locals using X band twice...once with my RX65).

It becomes frustrating when I travel through the larger city's though. I still leave all bands dso I know which band I am receiving, (K band is used a lot down here and I don't want to ignore\miss a signal based on the X\K confusion). I hope Whistler gets this fixed on their newer models since they are aware of the problem.
