    Default Turning XTR-695SE spectre proof?

I have been told, in other section of this forum, that spectre RDD scans microwaves from 10-25Ghz. KA band is out of this range.

What if I turn X and K band off and leave it scanning for only KA band. Is it possible that my RD is not detectable by spectre?

Shutting of X and K do not change the detectability. Range for the Spectre to detect the SE models are typically less than 150ft when tested head to head same lane as if you were playing chicken.

Havig the spectre in s different lane or off the side of the road reduces its ability to detect the SE

If there Spectre is angled across the road, the detection range is generally 0

Good to know that SE is so hard to detect for spectre!

Probably less than 100ft of leakage.

But what if there would be some plastic in front of SE antenna? For example I would build it into my cars dash or use some kind of plastic cover. Would it then be spectre proof?

wouldn't this hurt the range that the detector itself has, blocking the antenna like that?

What I`ve read, plastic wont obstruct radar signal.

Building into your dash may not allow for the unit to have an unobstructed view of the road ahead depending on your dash height vs. the hood of your car. Placing behind plastic will also kill any chance at a laser detection.

If you are overly concerned about Spectre then you need to buy a unit that is not detectable at all. Keep in mind that non detection from the Spectre does not guarantee you will not get caught with a detector as there are posts on this forum where the member was pulled over and had their unit taken even though they were using a unit that was 100% undetectable. How it happened is anyones guess but driving with an undetectable unit does not mean you will not get it taken away thru other methods.

just buy an STI Driver or STI-R when available and be done with it

Maybe he does not have that type of coin to spend.

    papirull, tell us about yourself.
    Where do you live?
What you are looking to spend?
Have you owned a radar detector before?
Is Laser used in your area?
    what are your driving habits?
