Hide a 78se?

First, windshield mounts are illegal in my state. Although that's not too unfortunate because you might as well put a bumper sticker on the back of your car that says "Haha you can't arrest me because I have a radar detector". Second I'm going to buy a Pro 78SE within a few weeks here, and need some tips on concealing it, especially at night. So tip away.

Oh and one or two questions... can I just put black electrical tape over the display and listen to the audio alert? The displays are damn bright and don't adjust quite as well as it seems like they could be made to (like your phone's screen).
Other question is, how effective is it to stick it right on the dash right up against the windshield with velcro or something?

Whistler does have dash pads and they work well.

Visor mount would be better than dash, you can order one cheap on fleabay. Also long ago I put tape over the led's, you could still barely see them at night, enough to know whats going on.
