Thread: Axis?

    Default Axis?

Fourth Quarter of 2012 is here and no news on Axis being available. After a big media release of the new detector, now not a word?! Whistler change their minds? Is Whistler gonna come out with something completely new? Looking to possibly upgrade from my trusty but false alarm prone (KC metro is brutal for false alarms) Pro78SE. Michael B you've always been great with keeping us up to date, can you shed any light for us?

Have not seen Michael B. on here since KenMc did his promotional advertisement.

When there is nothing good to say, you say nothing I suppose.

Wouldn't surprise me if whistler was/is dying. No real improvements, new innovations or new products in a long time. Looks like Bel/Escort is all that will be left with cobra on the low end and nothing in the middle vacated by Whistler.

Since they found out that there is a men's cologne company with the same exact same name they have had to change it's moniker. This is no small measure as the tooling was already developed to produce it.

I haven't heard what the new name will be but maybe they should try the word X-AXIS or AZIMUTH or azimuthal projection. I haven't heard any company is using these ones.

Just have a feeling the issue of no AXIS has nothing to do with the name. It was pictured on the Whistler web site (with no price); then it was gone. I got a chat reply that stated "the AXIS project is on hold indefinitely" whatever that really means. May also have something to do with Michael B and KenMc being MIA.

The whistler brand ain't done by a long shot.

This one project isn't there bread and butter. Far from it. It's those old fashioned and re-badged microwave spewing gun/diode/oscillator based low number xtr models that are and they are selling a boat load out of wall world and k-mart no doubt.

all the cheaper whistlers use them.

probably this all has to do with patents on it's gps system.

why even bother with it it's being done to death.

Mike V's patents on the v1 single enclosure mulit-antenna rd are history now

that is where whistler should attack the rd market next.

and make the v1 fan boys squeal ! LOL !
