Default SOUND SUX ON PRO 58

Oh god, what a mistake I made, bought the whst pro 58, and I can barely even hear it. After the 985 I will NEVER go back to not hearing detectors. I bought a 960 bel on (will not reveal) ops: for 45 bucks today, I think I will stick with that.

Do u think I could wire in the car stereo to make the 58 hearable??????? ops:

yes buy a handsfree cell phone set. Can be had at walmart. Some you can hear through the radio through the speakers. Let me tell you you can blow your ears out when you have it play through your car speakers.

Dont play the stereo so loud you might be going deaf thats why you cant hear it. Hearing loss is real. Dont believe me just ask any heavy metal drummer. My pro 73 is loud enough without playing it through the car stereo. Plus its dangerous to have your stereo to loud as you cant hear police sirens or fire trucks.

Dont ask me to turn down the radio. :P sorry guys. And your right hearing loss is real. Honestly, I dont play it that loud, but loud enough to make hearing the quiet 58 unnoticable. the 73 I was told is louder. No ear jack either. Whist told me I would void my warr, but I could open it up and wire to a stereo that had the option.

This is the first thread that I have read where it was said the that the Pro58 wasn't loud enough. I know that my 1788 that I returned was extremely low, can't be worse then that. Start listening to NPR (National Public Radio), you will be able to hear it then...lol. And yes, I do listen to NPR.

Do all Whistlers have a tendency of being on the low side for volume level?

You could get a portable sony walkman with headphones and tune into the station that you have broadcasting for the detector. Folks my 73 is plenty loud. I think allot of this might have to due with how far your detector is from the dash. You might ask whistler if they could ramp up the volume on your pro 58. And make sure your whistler is just slightly below the rear view mirror. Make sure auto quiet isn't on either. I mean really you can drown out any radar detector. I can drown out my V1 with my stereo. When i run my V1 I play my stereo at a good volume but not loud enough it drowns out my v1.

I put a pc speaker on my bel 985(the stock speaker blew) and it get over ANY music I can play. I got a used 960 with a blown speaker, I am going to put a pc speaker on it, and return the whist. (less you guys can talk me out of it) After reading the 05 results, I dont want the 58 or 73, I dont like the KA range. From using the 985 I know enough that my Ka range is critical, and I have blinder m20 dont care about laser. I do like the laser on the whist, with the eye pointed to the left as well as forward. I dont want to spend 150 when i can get exl Ka range out of a used bel. for 50 bucks. I wish I could get pop but I cant for under 90. (pro58)
