    Default Cheetah V1 Integration

I am running a Cheetah mirror integrated with my V1 with a standard V1 remote display unit in my 2008 Evo X. In thinking things over I noticed that a slim V1 remote could be affixed to the the lower left hand corner of the Cheetah mirror and not block my view in the mirror of anything other than my ugly face. Unfortunately, no one is now offering a slim, hard wired remote unit for sale on this forum that I know of. I think that a slim, hardwired remote with the mute button part removed, as was once offered for sale here IIRC, with the wire leading out from the bottom of the unit could be attached to the lower left corner of the Cheetah with double side foam tape and look like a factory item.

Cross posted to the Cheetah forum.

Doesn't sticking a remote display up in the middle of your windshield sort of defeat the whole purpose of it?

I have the main unit mounted on the passenger side near the top of the windshield and I use the remote display unit to move the display into my line of sight, not to conceal it from view. With all of the electronics on modern vehicles I doubt that too many people will associate a small red light with a radar detector.

I agree with that. But a V1 display is much, much more than a small red light. It's a freaking Christmas tree! Not to mention how visible the unit itself is when mounted there, lights or not.

I personally never liked the idea of the rear mirror showing this kind of information that is technically for my eyes only. I have the CD mounted in my gauge cluster. When it goes off my eyes naturally go there because we are all trained to look at our speed anyway. This is really important at night when you are on the highway with a LEO behind you blasting C/O radar and the thing is putting out a crap ton of light. I don't want to piss the LEO off by showing what I have and giving them a chance to pull me over for the littlest thing. I would rather keep my head down.

I agree with them all, why mount it in sight. But you can still find the slim display on ebay. But it cost 90 dollars.

sooner or later I will start working on slimming the display but right now I am working on the arrows. Once I have made them to my satisfaction I will release them in my main page and start working on slimming. The reason why I have yet to do it, is because it involves some RD on my part to make it as good as possible including being able to take it apart. Basically I want to cast a new back casing for it.

EDIT: the main reason why it is taking me so long to do the arrows is because I have yet to find a material that meets all of my criteria, and also I have to have spear money to invest. So far I have invest over $500 of my own money to make this happen. It will happen it just might take a little while longer.

I like the idea of the colored arrows as well.

Maybe leave the forward arrow the standard red color and use yellow or amber for the rear and either blue or green for the side arrow.

I would consider investing money if you think that it could be a profitable venture.
