E795 question
I've been using my E795 for a month. I guess it works ok but here's some questions. When Leo doesn't move and just sit there, it detects constant Ka band from .5~.7miles away eventhough there're lots of hills and curvy roads but when I encounter LEO driving towards me or following behind me, my E795 tends to detetct only when it's line of sight. Anyone has any Idea why this thing happen? and sorry for my broken English.ops:
The E795 is NOT a very good radar detector. It is especially weak on Ka detection. If you are able to return the detector, I recommend you do so. You need to spend about $200 USD at least to get a very good brand new radar detector.
It is possible that the LEO coming toward you or behind you does not have a radar or it is not on.
I have a 795 and it has performed well for me.
I know others on here who have not had much luck with them.
Works okay for me
I've had the E795 for a while and it has worked well for me. I usually keep to within +10 MPH over the the limit and in the morning am droning to work. The E795 has picked up smokey parked in breakdown lane enough times to prove to me it's working. My commute is 95% highway, so I like the adequate warning this RD gives me. I've picked up smokey over the hill about a 1/4 miles out and sure enough people were flashing headlights to confirm smokey was there.
For casual speeder who 's in an area with no POP this RD works well enough for the money. If you're a true leadfoot then you're going to spend the $200+ on a RD or a ticket (most likely both)...
