I thought I read at the store it was $25? I'm not sure though.
As for the Add-a-Circuit thing, try other auto stores. I think Pep Boys usually carries them, but others do as well.

Yup you've got it. There are 2 different sizes for fuses though. I know Honda and Mazda use the smaller type so make sure you know which kind your car uses.
I dont know why the add a circuit isnt more available since its a great gimmick. It took awhile but Canadian Tire our big auto parts chain here finally got them in.
First of all look in your owners manual to locate the fuse box and see what type of fuses your car needs, typically 2 sizes.Originally Posted by Ortoch
Typically the add a fuse supports up to 10 amps. the add fuse lugs into an exsisting spot, say for the Radio or Cig lighter. then you add an additional fuse for the detector. hide this wire say under the dash to the spot where you want the smart plug. (Note: cut off the spade, and crimp it to the tail off the add a fuse). For the ground just find a screw to the metal of the car and loosen and put it under that and tighten down.
Mount the smart Plug, then run the wire for the detector up the A Pillar to the spot you want.
I haven't been around for a few weeks but here it goes.
The 05+ Mustang GT has a primary fuse box under the hood and a secondary one at the passenger side kick panel.
This is called the Smart Junction Box or SJB for short.
The Mustang uses Mini size fuses so Littlefuse Add-A-Circuit 071-585 is what you need to purchase.
Please note that the Add-A-Circuit has a diode in it so it can only go in one way.
If you plug it in upside down it won't work.
You can use circuit F2.6 in the SJB which is for the power windows.
This circuit is powered whenever the key is in the run position and is still energized till the accessory delay has either timed out or a door is opened.
To fish a wire to the top of the windshield from belpw the dash is quite simple.
If your car is a coupe take ahold of the A pillar trim where it meets the B pillar near the rear of the door and pull towards the inside of the car.
The whole trim should detttach except for the 2 hooks near the base of the windshield.
You may need to wiggle it around a little but it will come out.
i have a trouble here
i buy the thing to have 12 V that goes in the fuses box.
the problem: 2 fuses box : 1 under the hood and the other in the trunk.
no fuses box in the car inside.
so i will have to connect my direct smart cord : direct to a 12 v wire in the car.
is it a must to connect on the 12V radio wire ?
or a 12 V wire that have always 12 V ( ignition switch OFF and ON)
thank you
The radio has more than 1 power wire.Originally Posted by franky932
The constant on is to keep the clock's memory.
There is also a switched one which is what you should be using.
Get a 12V test light and connect the clip to a good chassis ground.
With the key in the run position probe the wires till you find one that lights up the test light. turn off the key and if the light turns off you found a switched wire.
The simpler way is to search on the internet for the wiring diagram of your radio.
Where in Canada are you located?
