The answer looks like it is a yes, probably by March or April time frame. Just as a side note if you have not explored the Escort section, the new 9500ci, is a remote unit that is stealth, has GPS and laser shifters is def. coming in the same time frame.Originally Posted by radardude
Why are they adding a "-R" to it? It's not a Integra or Subaru.
I wish Beltronics would stop naming their detectors after cars.

Its the other way around, car companies naming their detectors after carsWhy are they adding a "-R" to it? It's not a Integra or Subaru.

Bel used the STI name back in the 80's
The remote model and the 9500 ci will be coming out around March or April
The range on the STI-R is awsome! RacerX drove my motorhome in Vegas, and on the interstate IN VEGAS he got a solid one bar Ka hit on a NHP unit 8 miles away.

Let's hope that it gets released in the spring along with the 9500ci.Originally Posted by jerry540i

I guess the main reason people go for the STI (the windshield or the new 'R' one) is the stealth feature for those living and/or driving in "bad" areas, at least that's my own case... now, I consider myself a pretty pragmatic person, one day, but let's hope that day never comes, some 'Down-Under'RDD company is finally successful in ruining the STI dream, anyhow, the 'R' one requires a professional installation plus when it's already mounted in the front grill it stays there no matter what when the regular one is just plug-and-play (or professionally hardwiring) plus you can take it down anytime you want, "911" situations included, when with the 'R' version you're pretty much stuck with it... just my humble opinion
