That is what we did two years ago with the 9500i and got the SAME result as him and ALL ON VIDEO, next excuse?

Somebody needs to drive around and make a note of the actual frequency of every K band door opener they come across. Then compare those with the actual frequency of everybody they know with a K band gun or a cop in their area that runs K band. See if the most commonly seen K band frequency used by the cops is the most commony used door opener frequency. If they are within 30 MHz of each other then the TrueLock feature will operate as it is supposed to but you could hear silence when you don't want to.

What is the difference in a gun and a door opener?

Nothing really other than door openers are usually a weaker signal and they are more prone to frequency drift.

What I should have said is: What difference would it make?

Happy I remember the test and vid. Still not buying it, any tickets yet? Tru/auto lock takes into consideration, freq, freq shifts, strength, exact gps location.

Theoretically, you can lock out a door opener and then go to that spot with a gun in a 30mhz block and shoot and the detector will not alert, in reality a cop car will not be sitting in that exact same spot as the door opener.

I love my GX. I am not bashing it in any way. I just wanted to test out what would happen , since we had so many K guns present.

I dont see any problem with using one of them C/O as the "door opener" source. The GX did lock it out. Maybe the signal strength also has something to do with the actual operation design?

It was just as real world as we could get without setting up in front of a grocery store and running people over.

BTW, laser alert did well. I was alerting from over 3000 ft when shot from full distance.

yes you can use a gun to lock a false out ... the k band door openers run the same frequency bandwith as police k band radar. sorry to say it true lock sucks.

and furthermore k band is k band.... door opener or radar gun. 24.050–24.250 GHz + or - 100mhz from the center frequency of 24.150ghz...

how many k band door openers Do you want, I have boxes of them. all of mine are 24.150ghz k band

Getting a ticket because of Truelock is certainly possible, but I'd argue that it's no more dangerous than say, City mode on an STi or big "L" on a V1 and is a lot less dangerous than turning off whole bands like most here do.
