So any update, as to why they are dropping it??? Is Blinder Guy an authorized seller of the STi-R (not to put anyone on the spot).

If they close up Beltronic, are the warrenties done, or Passport will pick them up?

I'm not really sure why they're discontinuing it... but I've talked with Beltronics on two occasions... and they both said that if you buy from an authorized seller then the warranty will be honored. Just keep your receipt and such.

I'm not sure if blinder guy is an authorized seller or not. The Bel site has a list of UNauthorized sellers... so check there before any purchases.

Yes I am an authorized dealer. RadarBusters also sells the STi-R I believe.

Blinder Guy is authorized, I don't know how many he has left in Stock though to push out.

Of course, it's how they always do it, they have to discontinue the STi-R now and come w/ STi-G or some crap, that way people can cry that the STi-G is far more expensive then the STi-R without GPS and for only $100 more you can get RedlineCI. The STi-G doesn't have the M3 platform it's still on M4 wahhhh. This is the game belscort plays.

Don't look for that to happen anytime soon.

Back in the 60s, every new car had an option list as long as your arm. With very few exceptions, pretty much everything was a la carte, so you could order exactly those options you wanted and not pay for the options you didn't. They even let you delete stuff that was "standard" like the factory radio.

Given that history, did you ever wonder why car manufacturers invented "option packages?" It's so they could bundle the **** you don't want into the same package as the cool stuff that you do want so they can sell more **** and boost their profits.

Escort has mastered this trick, as well. I doubt they are suddenly going to start leaving money on the table...
