STi and Laser in Barrie, Ontario

Just a reminder for those in lidar areas to not be too dependant on our STis. Local police have been playing with their new laser gun by hiding near the Molson arena parking lot pointing east in Barrie. STi did not pick up the laser twice. (The dispersion is too narrow.) This unit has been returned and tested when it happenned last time.

the STi is ok at picking up laser but the best is a v1...since u cant use a v1 in quebec i suggest u get some laser jammers even tho they are illegal in quebec...

Barrie is 40 miles north of Toronto, ONTARIO...

I do a lot of 400 up to Huntsville and Tobermory area, not much inside Barrie, but I see OPP Barrie doing a lot of lasering around that Molson area from inside their b & w cruisers, most of the time I heard truckers giving the location of the speed trap in that particular area over the CB Radio, also lots of times I see drivers been pulled over by OPP on 400 around Barrie, I guess people think that cops don't work at all, also watch for areas on 400 with white stripes on each side of the hwy, no RD or LJ is gonna save you from the eye in the sky called VASCAR!

If you are in Barrie and you might happen to know, what kind of traditional radar units, frequency only, Barrie Police is using? K or Ka, and if Ka, which one, 33.8, 34.4 or 35.7?

I would take Hockey005 suggestion if you are worried invest in some laser jammers.

- completely misread the post sorry...but again laser jammers are illegal in ontario...its completely fine tho...if you get hit with laser just slow down and turn the jammer off so the leo gets a speed reading...go to the laser jammer section for more info

How much is an LI plus pro installation? $1,000 in Canadian funds!!!!

LI is $700 for a dual...and install at a local audio shop is labor so like idk $60 an hour? but its worth the JTG performance and cs

I said $1,000 in CANADIAN funds, a lot of money for ordinary people especially during recession time!

Cut the freaking expensive price if you really wannna sell more units, that's how you do it during recession!!!

I would personally go for US$500, the dual LI, but not one dollar more!

I've heard that Laser Atlanta (which is what OPP uses) gets more reliable jam codes....then anything esle outhere. This has prevented me from investing in a jammer. Also i have yeat to hear from one person on here, from ontario, who is running jammers and is having good success with it (if there are any....they don't want to be known.)
