v995 muteing problem

i have a bel v995 and am quite happy with it for the most part. only one wierd thing tho... back a week or so ago, i had auto mute off, like i always do when i'm driving alone, and i could press the mute button after getting an alert and then when the alert would die and another would come down the road, it would go back to not being muted. this was nice when i had a false, i could mute it and not have to worry about forgetting to unmute it again. i was out with my girlfriend and turned automute on so that it wouldnt get anoying. i had hit the mute button in a usual false alert spot and everything was the same as normal. however when i got to the next false spot, it stayed muted. i figured since automute was on, this was the cause. i turned it back off and then as i passed my next usual false spot, i muted it. then when passing the next one, it stayed muted, even with automute off... what would cause this? i really liked muting it and then it unmuting at the next alert

Once you mut an alert for and a radar signal comes back after you muted it for the first time it will mute the radar alert as long there wasn't more than 10seconds between alerts

I would recommend not muting the detector at all or keeping it on Auto Mute

i only mute it when i'm with other people. when i'm alone, its music to my ears . thanks for your help
