How to check firmware version of Beltronics Sti Driver

Hi There folks,

Here comes a real noob question... I want to check what firmware version I have. How do I go about doing so?

I searched the forum and the manual...but to no avail.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I have seen it some where on the forum but cannot remember.
This is what i did.
Make sure the detector is off.
Press and hold the Volume-mute and Sens buttons together and then press the power button. You might have to do it a couple of times for it to take.
Remember this will reset your unit to factory default.

Right on Birdman...I just reset it...I have software A6M9...LAST 4 DIGITS OF SERIAL ARE 0309

How about you what do you have? Does anyone know if this is the newest firmware version out there?

Thats odd mine is also 0309 but firmware A4M9

my buddy has one, he says his is build 4607 with software A7M9 how new is that software upgrade bc im thinkin about buying it for $200 is this good deal

Ok guys, FYI, A4M9 or A6M9 or A7m9 is not your firmware. It is just the kind of light sensor the STI driver has in it. Search the forums and you'll see. I too thought those were the firmware versions initially

THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS WRONG.

Those are the software versions. There are different software versions due primarily to changes in internal components as a result of the industry going to NO LEAD parts. The photosensor ("light") sensor has nothing to do with the version of software in your STi.

Ok. So my Sti driver went out with an A4M9 and got the latest firmware, antenna fix and came back with A4M9. I guess they lied to me. Damn it!

Bel/Escort no longer tie firmware revision numbers to the actual firmware code which is flashed into their radar detectors. Instead they use the firmware version to indicate specific ancillary hardware components which were used in your radar detector's production run. For example, and A4M9 STi uses an analog light sensor whereas a A6M9 or A7M9 STi use a different digital light sensor for automatically controlling the display brightness.
