    Default RX65 S7 Selfcal

    Hey all,

So as many of you know, I just got my RX65 S7 Refurb. Tonight I received a self-cal message, which I know tends to be bad news. The unit is 10 days old, I take it down so it's not in the sun light and treat it like a baby. I am 99% sure I am going to send it back since if this is happening now, I can only imagine what will happen down the road. Any suggestions? (Return and swap for another one? or a get a V1?)

    -Thanks

Unfortunate for sure, but we've seen this happen with brand new Escort's right out of the box. So it's not really a foreshadowing of things to come.

In fact, the old S7 has a very durable and reliable track record with many out there going 10 or more years with no issues at all. I think this is one reason why Escort elected to Refurb these particular models.

But yes this can happen and the Selfcal messages are a heads up that it's time to get it checked out. Frequent Laser falses is another thing to look out for indicating the detector should be serviced. But rest assured that both issues can be fix'd and the old S7 will run for another 10 years sniffing out those traps. My refurb has been kicking a$$ and taking names for over a year now with no issues.

Mine too. I've had it for three months and I'm impressed with the excellent ramp up and range. I have the 9500IX in my other vehicle, and have done some static testing with signs, the 9500 is quiet, but the 65 is a monster...

Same here. Got my rx over a year ago with no issues. Sometimes it beats out my 9500ix in my other vehicle which is nice because it doesn't even have that nice condensor lense.
