bel pro 300 does not detect laser gun

I i was driving in Interstate 45 on woodlands tx, the State Police, was in the middle, he was out of the car, pointing towards the front of the oncoming traffic in the fast lane,,,,,,, my Pro300 no do nothing,,,, finally stopped the car that was behind me,,,,,,,, why? No detection?????????

short range laser I/O At very short ranges even the best of detectors can miss tightly focused laser shots. One question. Where do you mount your detector ? LOWER is better when it comes to laser reception.

Buck, you clearly don't know anything about RADAR or LIDAR. It wouldn't matter if his RD went off. The second you hear a LIDAR alert on your RD, the LEO already has recorded your speed. Radar detecors for helping you avoid a radar ticket, LIDAR jammers for helping you avoid a LIDAR ticket. Moving the RD lower, won't save you.

OP, remember your RD is not a free pass to speed! Supprised? Lidar (laser) is a tiny laser beam that dose not cone out and go everywhere like radar can. You are also going to run into instant-on radar (I/O) alot in TX, a supprise there too! You can be nailed with no warning there also! Welcome to the real world! LOL! Use your eyes and LEARN how to speed with your RD.....

How close was the officer to you? Run your detector low on your window for one thing. This may help a bit.

further out distances aren't the problem. Most detectors see them fine.

It's the real close encounters that are.

I had no problem with my pro 300 detecting truspeed the other day.(my rx65 firm 6.5) didnt pick up truspeed. The pro300 also had no trouble seeing ultralyte, prolaser2, and 3, stalker lz-1, in the time ive owned the 300 since last june 2012.
Before getting the LI laser countermeasure, I had to visually see the gun to determine what I was up against. Having the Li, makes it so easy and clear with voice alerts and especially clear having the extra voice speaker.
If you are like me and like to listen to music loud every now and then, the extra speaker is a must. Especially since the aftermarket radio I bought doesnt have a mute(rather a att button which simply reduces the volume) but cannot use this since its not an actual mute. Having the speaker is just another way of how LI makes driving an all around better experience.
