Do you get more unwanted attention from LEO?
snopes.com: Red Cars and Speeding Tickets
I drove "Arrest-Me Red" Mustangs for over 10 years and never got pulled over. Now that I have a "Yo! Officer!! Yellow" Corvette I've gotten two speeding tickets in under 3 years.![]()
That's when I bought a Valentine One.![]()
Djrams and new forum member, Muddy, both have red Mustang GTs. I think staton used to have a red T/A. Those are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head.
I had a Red 1st Gen Talon, and currently own a Red Civic Coupe.
USED to own a red integra GSR.
got two moving violations. one illegal left turn, one speeding.
multiple parking violations. illegal tint, no front plate.
NOW own a black BMW M3.
zero tickets yet.![]()
Supposedly red doesn't increase your chance of getting pulled over any more than any other car. However, a LEO friend of mine said Red is an easier color to remember when you track a car for pullover. Problem colors can be any ambiguous color like silver, gray, silver/blue, bronze, or beige. Of course this color concept goes completely out the window if you drive a high profile vehicle like a vette or a porsche. Then they can remember the make so easily color doesn't really matter. But for more homogenous makes like the Pontiac GTO for instanceIt can be tough to remember exactly what you targeted by the time you've moved around in traffic and start looking for it.

I drive an Arrest-Me-Red car:
I think Guards Red is just about the second best Arrest-Me shade of red, after Italy's "rosso corsa".
Of course, there is one catch...I barely drive it on the street. It spends most of its life on the track, the Nighthawk is my street car...
You must have Superman eyes or something, to me that looks just like the red Sunfire parked on the street
My father has a similar "bright sporty red" car with "supercharged" emblems on the side and such, he's had some issues but nothing serious. The worst was he got caught in a fishing expedition for having tinted front windows (that were rolled down!)![]()
