My first experience with an RD!

How can one evade a radar gun??

Can the V1 RD shield, protect from a radar gun?


The other day I took my Corolla 06, for 400 mile run. I had the Cobra XRS-9675 plugged & wanted to see how good or bad it was.

Firstly I did get 1 ticket.

Initially I was observing the speed limits. I was behind a car, but when it got hit by a radar gun, my unit beeped too. Since neither of us were speeding so no problems.

But this cop just turned on his radar gun & probably no RDs could have alerted.

A few miles ahead another one had his gun on & XRS-8675 detected it but again no fun as the Doppler pulse had already hit me. Again I wasn’t over speeding.

Further ahead when I got a little bolder & was doing 30 mph plus a Leo hiding in the bushes hit me again with his radar gun & gave me a ticket. He was nice enough to show me at what speed he caught me & had the video replayed.

Hoping to hear from you guys how to evade a radar gun?

Cobra despite having a extremely poor display not even visible in pitch darkness, has a extremely short detection range…….my personal views….so is useless!

Sorry you had to pass through a ticket to realize that Cobra Sucks. There is no legal way that you can be invisible to radar. Best way is ta have a good RD and know how to use it.

Having a car in front of you would help you a lot, but it has to be about 1/4 of a mile, so you would have enough time to slow down before the cop gets you.

A ValentineOne,Beltronics Rx65,Escort x50,Bel STI are the "Top 4" radar detectors made today. Their performance blisters away cobras,whislter,pni detection range by far! Though they are the best made today,they wont alone save you from a ticket.You need to use your brain,think what, and where you would hide as a LEO. Not only that but when you get an alert you need to ready to take the proper action. Instant on radar will kill any RD. Worse than laser. Laser you can atleast jam.

Key advice: dont think your ever invisible. And when a rabbit(person that usually also speeding and passing everyone,usually has a Rd) is available use him.. Let him take the hit.

US government property, if you ever feel ballsy: The stealth coting they put onto fighter planes to make them 'invisible' to RADAR (but thats a WHOLE different kind of RADAR theyre evading....... not only is it probably illegal to run, youll probably be commiting a few (just a few ) felonies to get your hands on a can of that stuff

What is that stuff? I've never heard of it but I'd like to find out more about it. Radar all works on the same principal, even if it's a different type.

This plane is not Invisible to radar but it makes it extremely difficult for radar to pick it up. Remember this is a 30 million dollar plane. To paint a vehicle in this stuff it even if you could would cost about 750,000 dollars. Out of the question

I don't think is the paint, I would say is the material that it is made of, because it has to be a thick material that absorbs the radar, which is how it works.

Perhaps I used the wrong term. It is a coat...which is applied by a special gun like one used for painting a special bed liner but much more complex. Then it is sanded down and reapplied and sanded down again. Then it is painted with a thiner paint as an outer coat.

I read this somewhere in the Army times about 8 months back so it is a little foggy
