Default The BEST Cobra detector ever.

My first radar detector ever was the 10 Band Cobra ESD-9115 a few years ago. Which sold for over $100 that I got for free. I soon found why everyone calls Cobras "Crapras.".....

Ever since then I have never used a Cobra but my question is are they still really that bad?
I rode in a friends car the other day who had a Crapara RD and no it is not the recent XRS version ones. It was a small one probably only an 11 band RD. There was a LEO coming from the opposite direction on KA band (Constant-on) and im sure he was doing atleast 10-15 over the PSL but it seemed he had enough time to slow down before the LEO passed us.

So I want to know have they gotten better? If they have.
Then what is the best Cobra radar detector on the market today? The current ones are all XRS so im sure it is atleast an XRS version. Prehaps the XRS-9930?
And how does the Best Cobra radar detector stand against the other detectors within that price range and detection.

The range is slightly improved and they false a little bit less than the older ones, but the filtering is still pretty poor. At least in the XRS models there is some more anti-falsing features, such as intellimute, and City X or City X + K modes (which only alert 3 bar signals and above).

yea that is what I thought. I found out after I had posted this that even the XRS models are still pretty poor, so I guess they are still craparas and at this rate they look like they will always be that... ops:

I have some serious issues with the XRS'es failing to detect certain Ka-band radar sources. The range is acceptable and enough to react, as you noted, when it alerts, but at times it does completely fail to alert!

Laser sensitivity is quite nice though.

Oh yeah, they leak/drone K and Ka to every detector user within a 5-car radius of you.

Lmao! Exactly, there are serious issues with these RD's I thought that alot of LEO's in my area have their Radar off but come to find out sometimes its my RD not detecting them. How do I know this? I'll run my RD and a Friends RD to compare performance of each others RD. I wonder if Cobra would warranty that issue, and if they couldnt fix it then give you a new one or money back it should atleast be ...
