Default X50 problems after send in-repair

I sent in my escort x50 for repair due to multiple laser falses (one after the other within 10 min of powering up(multiple occasions)), the suction cups no longer sticking to dash , and quite a few self cal messages/ fewer service required messages over my 2 years of owning it. It took between a week and two weeks to get back. When I first turned it on it went through bands then went to "self cal". On my way to work I pass a few "your speed" signs and almost always eventually get a full alert, however since the repair the front alerts(driving toward) are half to 3/4 and rear(driving away from radar in the beam direction)are are at max 1/2 or a few bars. occasionally it will lose the alert from rear at .2 or.3mile then pick back up. The antenna was replaced, the laser circuit was repaired, and they updated something, but still have rev 5. I have had 3 or 4 self cals since return and sometime have to reset it because *service required* (not self cal) will stay displayed for hour or more. it picked up better before sending, except falsing. anyone have any ideas? thanks

They screwed up somewhere and your detector is out of tune and cant tune itself back with the self cals. Ill send it back to them.

Send it back telling them whats wrong. I had problems with my laser falsing, they repaired the laser circuit and now its better than new. They had yours for a while, mine was out for about 4 days. Good luck with it.

yeah you expect it to be picking up better when you get it back. especially if you are approaching a highway patrolman and detector flashes service required (glad I wasn't a cooked goose even though only 5-10 over). should the firmware have been updated(to 6.1) since they installed a new radar antenna or is that just for newer cpu processor hardware? I will try to send in detector today or maybe by monday. maybe the tech won't fall asleep this time hehe. glad that they fixed you up Brave wtg. laser detection any better?

I did send the detector back in but during the shipment UPS lost it and it was never found. Escort sent me a new X50 ver 6.1 to replace X50 ver.5. I thought that this was great to be getting an updated one and couldn't wait to test out. upon using it I found the detector freezing(using scanning dot stopping for a long time on screen), resulting in very bad detection and alerts disappearing very quickly instead of normal gradual ramp down. I called escort and sent X50 back. Upon getting back it back I noticed the detection still being very bad, though slightly better in front, with rear dropping very close signals and picking back up sporadically. I am not sure what to do at this point because I like escort, but had too many problems in past year. I either want a rev. 5 again or might try out a valentine. anyone have any ideas? thanks

Get a Valentine One, the quality control is much better than with the Belscorts.

maybe your vehicle is frying your detectors.

I just received a valentine one in mail 12/21 and I am anxious to try it out to see how it compares to escort. my escort is performing a bit better on front and a little better on back now. can't wait to get my radar gun out after this one
