I just bought the x50 to replace my cobra, but it seems that when detecting radar bands from stores they are equal in range. I haven't encoutered a cop yet though, should i be expecting more substantial range than this even with stores?

My old cobra ($100 from best buy) would alert at the exact same places as my friends X50 at most of the door and alarm falses, but the police radar detection range was much much better on the X50. I wouldnt worry about it, false alarms arent very good to judge detection range.

Yup, not a problem.
Another thing to remember is that the door radar units use less output than a police radar gun would so they are absorbed a lot quicker by dust etc plus they are angled more down towards the ground than straight and towards traffic.
Yeah thats true, but the x50 has picked up more k bands than that of my old cobra, even though they were falses I consider this a huge plus.
big + if you leave it on Highway setting
