escort 7500 from 1999 and instant-on radar?

When i purchased my 8500 in 2003 i put my old 7500 in the wifes car (purchased in 1999). We were cruizing home yesterday and got pulled over for speeding. I never received any alerts from the officer and since i gave me a writtain warning i didn't ask to see the gun for verification. But it sounds like the State Troopers are all using Instant-On this weekend according to a few freind in the Audi Club.

If they are using Instand-On would i pick anything up with the 7500 or my older 8500?

If you were the intended target of IO, no radar detector would help you. If the officer was turning the radar on and off at random you may have received warning with your Escort 8500? Ka detection of the Escort 7500 isn't good, another possibility you were hit with POP Radar or Laser?

Looks like i will order myself something new and put my 8500 in her car. I really like the overall performance of the 8500. It seems like the 7500 might just be ready to retire. It seems like the officers here use Ka most of the time. But the 7500 didn't pick up anything yesterday. It was compeltly silent.
