Default Check my technician question out please .....

    IS THIS POSSIBLE,

Is this possible to throw in a rev 6.1 laser capability function on a rev 5. Is the laser area on the rd board totally different then the k x, and ka bands board area. Doesnt laser use a totally diff horn, or am I way off ?

I am just asking because my x50 is acting different on laser..
It used to alert when I push in my power mirror button.

Just wondering, my x50 rev 5 came back not alerting to laser when mirror button pressed when it used to before I sent it in ..

My Rev 3 doesnt alert to the mirror, neither did the 6.1 I had !

It sounds like you have one less false alert to worry about

If you look inside your X50 you can see that there is a screen mesh over the holes for the laser sensor diodes. Since screen mesh would have nothing to do with filtering light (infrared or visible) I am guessing the screen is there to prevent microwave energy from entering the laser sensor shielding and cause interference.

Laser alerts from functions not related to light/infrared pulsing are probably due to electromagnetic interference entering the lidar sensor area. I am guessing you had some sort of breach or weakness in the shielding arounf the sensor diodes, and this was fixed.

They could have also added some sort of shilding to the power input that is preventing EM interference from making it into the detector.

Either way, if you can get an alert with a remote control or something I'd assume the laser sensor is working and you're good to go!
